Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) Announces New Mobilization Manager

Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) welcomes Brian Evans as the Mobilization Manager.

As the Mobilization Manager, Brian will work with CMEP's grassroots networks and church partners to equip them with the skills to effectively advocate with their Congressional members on behalf of CMEP's advocacy priorities. This work is critical to ensuring CMEP can continue to help shift US policies in support of just and comprehensive ends to conflicts in the Middle East.

Brian holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a Masters's in Middle East Studies from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, before joining Amnesty International as a Country Specialist focusing on Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman. Since then, he has worked for many years as an advocacy organizer and campaigner on several human rights issues, including U.S. human rights abuses in response to the attacks of September 11, 2001, capital punishment in the U.S. and worldwide, and the prosecution of children as adults in the U.S. criminal legal system.

I am excited to join CMEP as Mobilization Manager to help advocate for policies that will move the Middle East region towards peace with justice. I am looking forward to working with the many church communities already engaged in this vital work, and doing all I can to help amplify their efforts,” Brian said.

CMEP Senior Director of Advocacy and Government Relations, Kyle Cristofalo, said: “We are excited to welcome Brian to our team. Brian brings extensive experience in helping mobilize grassroots advocates to participate in effective advocacy with policymakers. He will play a crucial role in our work addressing key advocacy concerns around holistic peacebuilding, humanitarian and economic assistance, and human rights in the broader Middle East.
