Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) Announces New Manager of Middle East Partnerships
Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) welcomed Ravenel Khashram as the Manager of Middle East Partnerships in late November 2020. As Manager of Middle East Partnerships, Ravenel will focus on helping to establish and cultivate relationships with CMEP partners on the ground.
Ravenel currently lives in Jerusalem and works remotely. She has a B.A. in History from the University of South Carolina and an M.A. in Islamic and Middle East Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
“I'm delighted to be working for an organization dedicated to shifting U.S. policies in support of a just peace in the Middle East! CMEP is a wonderful organization and I look forward to working with our partners and connections on the ground in the Middle East and in the U.S.,” Ravenel said.
CMEP Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon, said: “Ravenel comes to CMEP with extensive ties to Israel/Palestine. We are thrilled to have Ravenel join the CMEP team and help bolster our collective efforts toward ending the occupation and promoting justice and peace throughout the Middle East.”

Formed in 1984, Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) is a coalition of 30 national church communions and organizations, including Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Evangelical traditions that works to encourage US policies that actively promote a comprehensive resolution to conflicts in the Middle East with a focus on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. CMEP works to mobilize US Christians to embrace a holistic perspective and to be advocates of equality, human rights, security, and justice for Israelis, Palestinians, and all people of the Middle East.
