Press Release: CMEP Announces New Outreach Manager and Other Staff
Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) welcomes several new staff including: Jennifer Maidrand as the Outreach Manager , Rev. Aune M. Carlson a s the Director of Operations , and Michael Robinson as the Financial Manager .
 
Lent 2022 Devotional Series: 
The theme for this year's Lent Devotional Series is " Lent 2022: Hope Grows: Seeds planted, future promise ". The first devotional was sent out on Shrove Tuesday, March 1, 2022. You can find all the other devotionals as they're released on our website or sign up to receive them in your email.
 
This year, we were pleased to ask members of our staff to share reflections on the theme of “Hope Grows: Seeds planted, future promise” throughout the season of Lent. CMEP is very thankful for those writers who contribute Spiritual Resources. However, CMEP does not necessarily agree with all the positions of our writers, and they do not speak on CMEP’s behalf.
 
CMEP is hiring:
CMEP is seeking a Mobilization Manager. The Mobilization Manager implements the annual mobilization strategy that equips CMEP’s network of supporters from across the country to advance the organization’s advocacy priorities (holistic peacebuilding, humanitarian and economic assistance, and human rights) related to the Middle East.
 
"Is Peace Possible" Webinar: 
On Thursday, March 3, CMEP was pleased to host a webinar discussion of the recent publication: Is Peace Possible: Christian Palestinians Speak, with representatives from the Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land and CMEP board member communions, and moderated by Julie Schumacher Cohen, Assistant Vice President in Community Engagement & Government Affairs at The University of Scranton.

Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) calls attention to the ongoing economic crisis in Lebanon and recognizes the crisis as one of the greatest economic catastrophes of our time. CMEP lauds the US and European Catholic Bishops for their message and stands with them in their support of the church and the people of Lebanon.

February 17, 2022: CMEP joins over 40 Civil Society groups urging Congress oppose designation of the Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization
Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) joins civil society organizations to urge Congress to publicly oppose a Foreign Terrorist Designation (FTO) of the Houthis in Yemen and communicate their opposition to the Biden administration.

February 17, 2022: Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) sign Civil Society letter to Secretary Blinken on UNRWA funding
CMEP joins 17 Civil Society Groups in Thanking Biden Administration for Restoring Funding to UNRWA.
