| | Dear Friend, One of the challenges of Covid-19 for an organization like Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) has been the cancellation of our in-person events. Not only do events like our annual advocacy summit or Pilgrimage to Peace (P2P) tours give us the opportunity to gather and support each other in the work for peace and justice, they are also our primary form of fundraising and the money we raise at these events allows us to continue this work. That is why we have developed CMEP Journeys: Educate. Elevate. Advocate. Participate., our event series over the first half of 2021 designed to allow us to connect with you during this time of social distancing and offer you exciting ways to work and learn with us. Below, learn about a few of our upcoming events, as well as some of the other things CMEP has been up to in the last month. |
| | | | Action Alert: Tell Biden Admin to Release UNRWA Funding As the President of the United States, Joe Biden can release the funding for UNRWA and bilateral assistance to the West Bank and Gaza at his own discretion, as it has already been appropriated by Congress. It is imperative that he hears the support of the American people for the restoration of funding to UNRWA, among many other humanitarian assistance organizations and programs, all of which provide vital aid and relief to Palestinians. |
