January 2021

Check out the latest opportunities and events from Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP).

Podcast with Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon:

CMEP’s Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon, talks peace and politics in the Middle East with Alexis Busetti on the “That Makes Total Sense” podcast. The conversation around the topic is nuanced and complex, still Mae and CMEP challenge and encourage Christians to believe that “…Justice can prevail. Peace is possible.”

Film Screening:

On December 7th, Churches for Middle East Peace hosted a screening of a short film about the life, ministry, and advocacy of His Beatitude Michel Sabbah followed by remarks from His Beatitude as well as a Question and Answer time with him. His Beatitude Michel Sabbah served as the Archbishop and Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem from 1987 to 2008, the first non-Italian to do so in over five centuries, and is an outspoken defender of Palestinian rights. Moderating the post-film discussion is Kevin Clarke, Senior Editor for America Magazine.

Advent Series 2021:

Did you see our Advent Devotional Series for 2021? Since October 1962, the song Do you hear what I hear? has sold millions of copies and been recorded by dozens of artists. For Christmas and for those who celebrate Advent, we at Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) reflected on the words of the song as we prepared to celebrate the coming of Christ Jesus at Christmas.

Catch up on the Advent Devotional series at the link below. Please check back for our upcoming Lent Devotional Series or see our other Spiritual Resources here.
