Community Calls to Congress
Call your congressional offices and demand a ceasefire.
Right now members of Congress need to hear from constituents in support of a ceasefire in Israel/Palestine. As the situation on the ground continues to deteriorate, a ceasefire is desperately needed to ensure there is no further loss of life. Call your members of Congress and let them know you support a ceasefire, the release of civilian hostages, and the immediate and adequate distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza.
Preparatory information:
After your first call, press star (*) to be connected to the next office. Repeat that step after the second call to be connected to the final office.
Take a few minutes to research your member of Congress to see if they have said anything recently regarding a ceasefire. Check their social media or press section of their website.
You might end up being connected to voicemail or speak with an administrative staff member in the office. Whether leaving a voicemail or speaking with a staffer, be succinct, polite, and to the point. Make sure to same your name and where you are located. We recommend keeping the call brief and have a script you can use to guide the call.
We recommend calling no more than once a day. Make this a daily practice! Encourage others in your family and community to join!
If your Senator or House member is already in support of a ceasefire it will not connect you to that office. We recommend you call separately to thank them and encourage others to do so as well. You can call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121and and operator will connect you directly to that office.
