Support CMEP's ASWR Programming

In 2018, Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) hosted a gathering in Washington, D.C. of men and women to hear from female experts from the Middle East and the United States on issues related to peacebuilding and justice. CMEP’s “And Still We Rise” summit invited people to listen and learn from these women’s leadership and expertise. After the meeting in D.C., the women from the Middle East spread out across the U.S. with members of CMEP staff to continue educating U.S. Christians about the realities of life in the Holy Land and how U.S. Christians could be a part of bringing peace. 

Born out of those days in 2018 came the call from these Middle Eastern leaders to make And Still We Rise an ongoing program to support, empower, and equip female leaders from the Arab world. These women leaders wanted a space to gather together and raise their voices so they would be heard. We planned a follow-up summit to take place in the Middle East in 2021. The global pandemic delayed that opportunity, but we continued on meeting with Christian women leaders in Palestine via Zoom or in person. Now our plan is to gather together in person for a summit in November 2024 in Jericho, Palestine.

We are raising $50,000 for And Still We Rise.
These funds will be used for programming, partnerships with Palestinian women, and to increase staff capacity for this program.
