Join Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 6:30 PM at St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York City for an unforgettable evening celebrating the launch of CMEP’s Armenian Advisory Council. This new initiative aims to strengthen engagement with Armenian communities, advocate for human rights, and support the Christian presence across the Middle East.
This elegant gala will bring together ecumenical leaders, civic advocates, and philanthropic partners for a night of culture, connection, and shared purpose. Guests will enjoy a curated dinner and wine service inspired by Armenian traditions, a silent auction featuring handmade artisan goods from Armenian workshops in Jerusalem, live music, and thoughtful reflections from distinguished speakers.
The evening will feature remarks from His Grace Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, His Eminence Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, and Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon. Your participation will help shape this new chapter of Armenian advocacy and honor a legacy of resilience and faith that extends from Ararat to the world.
All proceeds from the event and the silent auction will go towards funding the activities of CMEP's Armenian Advisory Council.
Armenian Advisory Council Objectives
Our goal is to foster a committed, dynamic space for discussion and action, amplifying voices in support of justice, peace, and the protection of Armenian Christian heritage. While CMEP’s broader policy positions focus on Middle East peacebuilding, we believe they offer critical intersections with the Armenian experience. We aim to achieve this through:
- Increased partnership with the Armenian Church in the U.S., Armenia, and the Middle East
- Events such as webinars, seminars, and more to engage the American public with Armenian issues
- An increase in congressional lobbying regarding Armenian rights such as: the return of the displaced population of Artsakh, the preservation of Armenian historical and religious sites world wide, the protection of the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem, the protection of the Armenian communities under threat and many more!
Gala Aims
The aim of this Gala is to fundraise for the activities of the Armenian Advisory Council. The Gala will include a full dinner, open bar, and musical performances. The highlight of the evening, along with our esteemed guests of course, is the silent auction featuring Armenian items from Jerusalem. All of the items on display are handcrafted from the finest Armenian artistry shops in the Holy Land.
We look forward to hosting you for an extravagant night of generosity!

We will begin at St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York at 6:30pm with welcome drinks.
Dinner will be served at 7:30pm.
The event is planned to end around 9:30pm.

Transportation to St. Vartan Cathedral: The closest Subway stop is 33rd Street Station which services the 6 Train. There are also numerous bustops located on 1st and 2nd Avenue. You can also utilize Ubers and Lyfts to make it to St. Vartan Cathedral located at: 630 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10016
Driving and Parking: The Cathedral does not have on-site parking. There are however several ticketed parking lots close by including Tunnel Parking Garage at 300 East 34th Street.
Meals: Armenian Style Dinner- Sit Down Dinner/Family Style- including vegetarian and vegan options. Open Bar.
